Christine Loth-Bown is the Vice-President External Relations and Visitor Experience at Parks Canada. Welcoming 24 million visitors each year, Parks Canada is the largest provider of natural and cultural experiences in Canada and is an anchor of the tourism economy in communities across the country. In her role, Christine is responsible for communications, marketing and promotions, reservations, merchandise, visitor experience offers, partnerships and stakeholder relations. She has had a distinguished career in policy development and program implementation at the federal level, for over 30 years. She has gained expertise in strategic planning, communications and engagement, marketing, environmental protection and conservation, and cultural heritage protection and promotion.
Christine has a Master of Arts in Canadian Studies from Carleton University with a specialization in Indigenous studies and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Canadian Studies and Political Science from Glendon College, York University, Toronto.
Prior to joining Parks Canada, Christine held senior roles at the Canadian Tourism Commission and Fisheries and Oceans Canada, where she played a leadership role in the development of strategic policy initiatives as well as corporate planning frameworks. In addition, Christine was the Vice President of External Relations and Strategic Policy at the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, where she was responsible, among other things, for external relations and engagement.
Christine is a recreational boater and lives in Ottawa with her husband and son. She enjoys getting out on the trails and waterways with her family.
