Lyle Hall has been providing advisory services to the tourism, hospitality and gaming industries for over 35 years.
Lyle’s consulting career started at Laventhol & Horwath in 1985. He joined KPMG in 1990 and served as National Director of the Canadian firm’s Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism practice, before co-founding HLT Advisory in 2005. He sold his interest in 2017 and now practices as an independent consultant—working in Canada and internationally—with a focus on strategy, business operations, policy and governance. He is also a shareholder in and advisor to several hospitality-related, start-up ventures and serves as an independent director.
Lyle’s consulting experience includes a wide range of lodging, gaming, public infrastructure and tourism projects for both the public and private sectors. He has worked for clients and on projects located in every Canadian province as well as Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, the United States and Africa.
Lyle frequently shares his thoughts and opinions by speaking at industry events and contributing to industry publications. He co-founded the Canadian and Western Canadian Hotel Investment Conferences. He is currently a member of the Shaw Festival Board of Directors. Past roles include director and Chair of Tourism Toronto (the destination marketing organization for the greater Toronto area).
