Lyle’s consulting career started at Laventhol & Horwath in 1985. He joined KPMG in 1990, commencing a 15-year term the last ten of which he served as National Director of the Canadian firm’s Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism practice—before co-founding HLT Advisory in 2005.

His consulting experience includes a wide range of lodging, gaming, public infrastructure and tourism projects for both the public and private sectors. He has worked for clients and on projects located in every Canadian province as well as in Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, the United States and Africa.

Lyle’s professional qualifications include a Certified Management Consultant designation and active membership in the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) where he was a director for seven years, including a five-year stint as Treasurer. Lyle co-founded the Canadian Hotel Investment Conference (which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2016) and sits on the advisory board of Hotelier magazine. He frequently shares his thoughts and opinions by speaking at industry events and contributing to industry publications.

On the volunteer side, Lyle recently joined the Board of Governors of the Shaw Festival (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada) and the board of The Niagara Foundation. Past roles include director and Chair of Tourism Toronto (the destination marketing organization for the greater Toronto area).

After a busy and successful consulting career, that required simultaneous management of multiple projects and clients, Lyle is looking forward to focusing on a single project (or two) of interest…where he can play a meaningful role and add value.
